If you are regularly on the go in New Zealand, whether it be hiking, world travelling, playing sports, at work, driving or simply somewhere with an unreliable water source – even if that source is chlorinated, fluorinated tap water – and you already own a stainless steel water drink bottle, what about turning your stainless steel drink bottle into a stainless steel water filter bottle?
Is that even possible? Yes, indeed. The Seychelle or Fill2Pure Fast Flow Filter is made to use in a non-squeezable stainless steel bottle. Together with the BPA-free black flip- top plastic stem lid that fits into the original Seychelle Stainless Steel Filter bottle style, the high quality Seychelle water bottle filter can be safely and effectively used with other brands of stainless steel drink bottles. In fact, as long as they fit certain size criteria, the lid and filter will fit perfectly!
So what brands and what bottles sizes? In New Zealand, we’ve tried them on the Klean Kanteen Classic Range and on the ECOtanka regular range (excluding their 2 litre Mega Tanka which has a wider mouth) and they work brilliantly. All you need is to ensure that you use the filter set with an 800ml size or larger. If using another brand, the bottle basically needs to have a 39mm interior diameter on the mouth and a 23cm minimum height.
Now why would you want to do this? Mainly because it gives you more possibilities. For example, if you would like a different colour or style than is usually offered in stainless steel water filter bottle; or if you like to take a 1 litre or 1.2 litre size bottle along instead of just 800mls because you drink more water; or if you need to use an insulated stainless steel water drink bottle because you are out in the heat all day (We found the filter set fits perfectly into the 800ml ECOtanka Polar Ice Tanka) this could be the answer for you.
If you already own a Seychelle original style stainless steel water bottle, you can just transfer your lid set over, otherwise you can purchase lids here. Enjoy the possibilities and the clean water!
